EthioSuQ Terms and Conditions (Concise Summary)

Please read these simplified Terms & Conditions carefully before using the EthioSuQ website Ethiosuq.com or mobile application (the “Marketplace”). By using the Marketplace, you agree to these terms in full.

1. Introduction and Agreement

  • Our Role: EthioSuQ operates an ethical e-commerce platform in Ethiopia (the “Territory”) connecting buyers and sellers. We facilitate the Marketplace, logistics, and payments, but we are not a party to the contract between the buyer and seller.
  • Acceptance: Using our Marketplace means you accept these terms. If you act on behalf of a company, you warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity.

2. Registration and Account

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to register.
  • Account Requirements: You must provide accurate and complete registration information (including email/ID and password/licenses).
  • Security: You must keep your password confidential and are responsible for all activity on your account.
  • Termination: We can suspend or cancel your account at any time for any reason (with a refund for paid, unreceived services if you haven’t breached terms). You may cancel your account by contacting us.

3. Terms of Sale

  • Contract: A binding sales contract is formed directly between the buyer and the seller upon the buyer’s purchase confirmation. EthioSuQ facilitates the sale but is not a party to it.
  • Seller Obligations: Products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for the stated purpose, and comply with all descriptions. Sellers warrant they have full, clear title to the products.
  • Pricing: The price must include all taxes, and any extra charges (delivery, packaging) must be clearly stated in the listing.

4. Returns and Refunds

  • Process: Returns and refunds are managed by EthioSuQ on behalf of the seller according to the policies posted on the Marketplace’s Returns and Refunds pages.
  • Discretion: Acceptance of returns and the method of refund (store credits, bank transfer, etc.) are at our discretion, subject to Ethiopian law.

5. Payments

  • All payments must be made in accordance with the Payments Information and Guidelines published on the Marketplace.

6. Rules About Your Content

  • “Your Content” includes all materials, images, reviews, and communications you submit to the Marketplace.
  • Requirements: Your content must be accurate, complete, truthful, appropriate, civil, and legal.
  • Prohibited Content: Content that is offensive, obscene, violent, discriminatory, illegal, fraudulent, harassing, violates intellectual property rights, or constitutes spam is strictly prohibited.
  • Misconduct: You must not interfere with transactions, use the review function to post fake reviews, or attempt to conduct sales outside the Marketplace.
  • Review/Removal: We may review and remove any content at our discretion if it breaches these rules.

7. Our Rights to Use Your Content

  • License: You grant EthioSuQ a worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, and distribute your content across our marketing and media channels.

8. Use of the Website/App

  • Permitted Use: You may view, download, and print pages for your own personal and business use related to buying/selling on the Marketplace.
  • Prohibited Activities: You must not republish, sell, rent, modify, or misuse any material from the Marketplace. You must not hack, tamper, scrape data, or impose an unreasonably large load on our systems.
  • Ownership: EthioSuQ and its licensors own all intellectual property rights in the website and its material. All rights are reserved.

10. Data Privacy

  • Personal Data: Your personal data is processed according to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice.
  • Seller Liability: Sellers are directly responsible to buyers for any misuse of personal data; EthioSuQ is not liable for seller data misuse.

11. Marketplace Role and Liability

  • No Warranty: We do not warrant the completeness, accuracy, or availability of the Marketplace. We do not guarantee commercial results.
  • Liability Limits: Our liability for services provided is limited to the total amount paid and payable to us for that specific transaction. We are not liable for any special, indirect, or consequential losses (e.g., loss of profits, data corruption). We are a limited liability entity.

12. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Territory (Ethiopia).
  • Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Territory.

13. Breaches

  • If you breach these terms, we may take action including temporarily or permanently suspending your access or deleting your account.
